Iโ€™ve been here during their happy hours and dinner time and Iโ€™ve always loved the atmosphere and live music! Staff is... super friendly and their food and drinks are delicious! A particular staff had noticed that our cold drink was sitting out for awhile, untouched on our table and they offered to make a fresh one for us. I thought that was very thoughtful of them to do! The only time I havenโ€™t had yet is their brunch menu so Iโ€™m looking forward to that the next time we come!read more

Just a wonderful experience, busy spot but very accommodating. Had the chicken wings which were truly spectacular.... Mushroom burger was great as well but chicken wings were better. This wonderful restaurant is in the most unlikely of places! An industrial park 6 minutes from the airport.Skip the... tired standard alternatives if you are flying in or out and visit this lovely cafe. Classy restaurant feel with low volume music so don't worry about not being able to chat. Brunch was delicious and... portions were enough. One of better place to go for satisfying your breakfast craving. I highly recommend the pork belly. The English breakfast was excellent.read more

Discovered this gem of a place thru open table and tried it out. Loved the food and the ambience of the place.Itโ€™s... nice and cozy and service is great. The only reason Iโ€™m giving it 4/5 stars is the wine selection for by the glass is very limited. A couple of more options for red and white would appeal more. Donโ€™t want to have to buy the whole bottle as none of the by the glass were of my liking. Otherwise love this placeread more

This is a FABULOUS little place. I went for breakfast, and I can't believe I didn't know about it until now. I will... definitely be going back, and probably even ordering to go. Right now they are doing dine in, with a reservation. Reservation system is easily done via OpenTable, right from their website. Charming, warm atmosphere, the music was wonderful, and the food quality matches the excellent surroundings. 10/10 in service as well. A newly found gem that will surely become part of my routine.read more

My wife and I had brunch at The Story Cafe. The food was delicious, the portions were generous, and the service great.... I love the theme and decor of the restaurant. Anyone who love culture and music will love this place.The music was love level so it was easy to talk. We made a reservation and they had a table for us right away. I will suggest to make a reservation if you want to go. Brunch was about $15-$25.Thank you for great dining experience.read more

On a good night, this is one of the best restaurants in Richmond. Their mushroom burger is pretty much a perfect... burger, every ingredient is executed perfectly and they all come together into something beautiful. The Italian section is a bit more hit or miss depending on how traditional you like your Italian food. Tasty, but definitely not authentic. I'd give 5 stars if not for the fact that they're inconsistent; about 1 in 10 orders, the quality control goes out the window and there are either missing items or poorly made food.That said, the employees very obviously care about customer satisfaction and have been pleasant and helpful every time I've spoken to them. I order from them frequently and will happily continue to do so!read more

The ambiance is amazing. Great music, felt safe with the covid measures. I tried their happy hour menu, their steak... bites are to die for. Coffee and pastries are all great, they even offered to heat up our croissants. I really want to try their brunch because the menu looks amazing. All in all, the perfect middle of nowhere gem of a place.Update: Visited for brunch and was not disappointed. Tried the maple pulled pork French toast. Seating outside is good but the heaters are not very strong.read more

The story cafe is definitely a must visit for a rustic feel in an industrial neighborhood located in Richmond. With... amazing Benny's and delicious salmon burgers their specialty is brunch. I truly feel that they do great with adding extra little touches for the comfort and cozy feel. Such as little saucers with niche spoons. The price does reflect the service you recieve here and the staff is top shelf. Take a look at the pictures and see for yourself.. the story cafe should if not already be added to your list of eats around the lower mainland. Keep it up guys I definitely will be coming back for the chicken and waffles and if they don't fail me I will changing this from a 4 star to an amazing 5 star review. Well done guys.read more

Came for brunch, lovely little hidden gem. Friendly good service. I got the benny with smoked salmon, yummy and I... appreciated the eclectic variety of fresh fruit. Dad got English breakfast and it was a pretty good portion. The London fog was delicious but would've preferred it in a ceramic vs. Glass cup. Awesome place for a date or to stop on a bike ride. This place is amazing!!! Met my girlfriends there for weekend brunch one day and the ambience and atmosphere is lovely.... The servers are friendly, and the menu has something for everyone! Best of all the salmon is ocean wise! We got the bennies and avocado toast with salad and both were delicious. I visited here few days ago and I must say this is definitely one of the most unique cafes I've ever been to. Very good food. Higher on the cost wise $$ but not too expensive for some fancy lobster and pasta. Very rustic yet... modern twist to the place. Love the aesthetics. It took awhile and a few tries for us to get our bill (it was like they didnโ€™t want us to pay haha), but other that that it was still good service.read more

This place is amazing in honestly every way I can think of.The staff... the nicest human beings Iโ€™ve met in my life,... and Iโ€™m trust me, Iโ€™m not exaggerating. Nice cozy place to go to get away from everything! Food is nice with a quiet atmosphere to each lunch at. We came for brunch and one of the people I was with said best pancake ever... he had the blueberry pancakes and really... like that one side of the pancake was crispy. I will have to try next time. I had the wings, Love meat tender and some of the pesto prawn pizza. All were good as well. The crust of the pizza is different than what I am used to but still good. Friendly service as well. We will come again for brunch or try their lunch/dinner. Make sure you make a reservation as it gets quite busy.read more

Love the decorations of this restaurant it allows the eyes to wander and discover tiny details of how everything was... carefully selected. The place is cozy, great for a meal and/or a drink at the patio. Pay attention to the dessert menu, the play-on words are phenomenal. Overall the food and the settings brings a awesome experience. Gave this place another go, and the difference was big. The service was fast and on point. You can really tell the... servers really put care in, especially the owner who was present, friendly and informative. Everyone liked their food, and the presentation was was A+ especially the burgers. The chicken burger was delicious, you can tell it was fresh and handmade with some nice spice. My only recommendation would be to make sure that the bread the burger is served on is fresh everyday. Unfortunately my bun fell apart in my hand as I ate it because it was a bit dry and tasted slightly a day old or so (but my other guest said his burger bun tasted fresh so maybe it was just mine.) Thank you for inviting us in again, this is the type of place Richmond really needs and we are looking forward to coming in again next time to try brunch!read more

I didn't get a chance to try the pasta or burgers but the brunch was average, nothing super... amazing.They had good attention to detail as all the fruits including the oranges were cut so the piths were easily removed. I have been to this place a few times already plus ordered takeout for couple times too, I really love this cafe and... their food! Their food quality is good and their environment is very nice and special, I feel so relaxed there. My favourite dishes so far are Titanic, Muschroom Burger, Seafood Linguine, and their signature NY cheesecake, etc. They have live music at some nights too which is a plus, not many places in Richmond has it! This place is what I would called a designer eatery. I had to say I was enchanted by the intriguing interior and its... retro vibe. The retro toys are fascinating to look at, and you'll know that the owner here has no intention to give you only a good dining experience, but to share his/her view of the best dining experience with you. Definitely an one-of-a-kind eatery out here in Richmond.Food here is unquestionably "instagramable" (see for yourself), and the dishes I have ordered are delicious (go and try for yourself). This is a great place to grab a beer and watch some live music in the weekend night! On weekdays, you can enjoy your... lazy afternoon in the cozy atmosphere with cool, nostalgic old pop music. The story cafe has great vibe with the antique decorations and perfect food. Staff are nice and friendly. I've ordered their pasta, and burgers several times. The Story Cafe is my kind of place. Itโ€™s a new cafe restaurant in Richmond with delicious food and specialty tea and... coffee drinks. The nostalgic decor makes you feel right at home over dinner or snacks, and best of all is there is live band music in the evening. I've been here several times now but this will be my first review. I've had the mushroom burger when they first opened... and it was quite nice. Flavourful, and not overcooked at all. What you would expect and how a burger should be. My go to are the pastries and coffee. I get the ham and cheese croissant nearly everytime I come here. I asked the one helping me if all the pastries were sourced but she told me that one of the owners is an actual pastry chef who makes everything fresh daily.It sure does show as it's one of the best croissants I've had. The raspberry scones were just as exceptional. Flavorful and moist. Did not expect to like a scone that much. I've only ever had dry scones and I thought those were what they were suppose to be. Boy was I wrong. This was exceptionally delicious and I'm not a sweets person at all.You are doing a great job Story Cafe.read more

I stumbled upon this place one night while walking around and I have been coming by almost everyday for one of this... delicious goodies. The food is amazing and comes with a free cheesecake if you spend enough, but my favourite part is the place and how well it's designed from the inside. WOW! Probably the best burger I've actually had in a long time. And I know my burgers! This thing was well cooked,... seasoned to perfection, fresh toppings, and it wasn't dripping all over with sauce. It had the perfect amount and was not soggy at all when delivered. Can't wait to try other items on the menu! Cheers.Edit - It was so good I went back and tried the Meat Pizza...O my gosh... I'm in love. All of the staff were amazing. The place looks great on their retro design. It was a brief experience with their staff... as the dining section was close but how the staff handled my take out order was awesome. He was able to give me good suggestion on my western style lunch, he was able to anticipate what I want when I had no idea what to order. It turned out that it was a perfect suggestion for lunch. They were able to prepare my food in a short period of time waiting. I felt that the food I had was prepared with care as the plating looks professionally done. My wife and I enjoyed our food together. I will definitely go back and try it again. I hope the dining section of the bar open soon.read more

Get the portobello burger, it's an absolute must. This is easily one of the best burgers I've had in a very long time;... the patty, the bun, everything was perfect. The fries were well seasoned, and this burger easily tops off anything commercial like Cactus or Earls, at 3/5 the price.You'll be greeted by soft sounding classics playing outside, and the interior is just absolutely beautiful. You can tell a lot of work was put into designing it and it exudes a distinctive atmosphere. The owner came out to greet us even for just a pick up, and I can't wait to come back and properly sit down next time (it's the perfect date place)A great story, with no end!read more

The food there is fantastic. I ordered a Cappuccino, Carbonara and Lava cake. Carbonara was creamy and perfectly... cooked, cappuccino was beyond my expectation which came with a good aftertaste. The name of dessert is an eye catcher, " Killing Me Softly" , taste of this cake is the best in town and it did kill me softly lol . Love the decoration, food, drink and music there.
